Using eyeliner is the biggest step you can take towards magnificent bold eyes. I got into eyeliner several years ago, and now I think all women should use this wonderful tool to give their eyes an edgy look, defining and emphasizing the eyes in order to make them pop. Obviously different eye colors might look better with certain colors as opposed to others, but one color that will help every woman’s eyes transform to sexy dramatic eyes is black eyeliner.

I have three eyeliners that I personally use and recommend with confidence. All three of my eyeliner recommendations come in several different colors. If you think you want to purchase a black and another color, consider your eye color. Typically, people with brown eyes look great in plums, grays and greens. Blue eyes look good with brown shades. Green eyes look great with dark shades and plum. But, as I mentioned, black is the universal shade for all eye colors.

Eyeliner is easier to apply than people think. All you need is a steady hand, and some time to figure out a technique that works best for you. Plus, the more you practice, the better you get. I use a close-up mirror and close the eye I’m lining. A good eye-liner is important, because you want it to last and not smear. One important rule is never go overboard and do a thick line of black unless you are an experienced makeup artist, know how to blend it in, and understand how to coincide it with the rest of your makeup. Thinner lines are more subtle and can always be made thicker later.

Prestige eyeliner is amazing. I have been wearing it for 9 years, and I’m still loyal to the brand. The best part is that it is very reasonably priced and it lasts a long time. I never have to re-apply more than once a day. The tip is pointy at first, but does loose its precision after a couple months. Many people are scared to use liquid liners, but for the most part that’s all I use on my lids. I use liquid liner because it creates a more precise line, as opposed to pencil eyeliners. Pencil eyeliners are great for a softer look. But, they both do a beautiful job of accentuating the eyes. Although a lot of makeup artists don’t recommend lining you bottom lashes with liquid eyeliner, I do it all the time! Liquid eyeliner rarely smears on me, unless lined too low, but I have had a lot practice lining my lower lids. For ladies who are out of practice, I would use this liquid eyeliner on my top only, and then use black pencil eyeliner on the bottom.

M•A•C Splashproof PowerPoint Eye Pencil is awesome and great for those of you who are afraid of liquid liners. It is a water-resistant pencil that won’t smudge. I use this once in a while, and my roommate swears by this eyeliner. My roommate used to be a makeup artist, and she is the one who introduced me this product. With her being a credible source, I tried it out. This M•A•C pencil is great in the color Engraved, a rich black. There are 14 shades to choose from, but Engraved is the only true black shade, and it was also the winner of Allure magazine’s Best in Beauty award. Apparently, it’s not just my roommate who loves it!

Lorac Eye Shadow/Liner is my absolute favorite! I wear it in combination with the Prestige black liquid liner. This product is so sexy it makes me want to bat my eyes so everyone can notice. This shimmering eye shadow liner in Midnight Sparkle is phenomenal! I never like eyeliners with glitter in them, but this stuff is magic. It creates a smoky eye effect, and I get compliments on it wherever I go. I line my top lashes with it and sometimes I’ll line it over my Prestige black liquid liner, creating a bolder look. I also line my bottom lashes with it, and it rarely smudges. Even when it smudges it looks sexy. But, I suggest having a Q-Tip handy when applying it, just in case you want to wipe of the excess.

Go on and snag yourself eyeliner, and get ready for the holiday season. With so many parties to attend, walking in with your eyes gleaming may bring some holiday magic.
