--By Kim MoshtaghiThis holiday season is giving me and my girlfriend the holiday blues. Both of us have been going through a tough week of losing our boyfriends, and we are both in the “why this, why that” phase. When a best friend is going through the same thing it’s hard to console one another-- there are two wounded hearts involved, making it a tougher situation. After a tear jerking week and half, I have realized the best revenge would be to feel and look good again. After the puffy eyes wear off, I have decided to purchase some sexy dresses that will be sure to make my ex’s jaw drop. Whether I see him or not, most importantly, I want to feel sexy in my own skin again. So, I have been focused on this goal, and very passionate about it, knowing that as long as I feel wonderful I will shine.
I talked to some of my reliable, knowledgeable male friends to ask them what kind of outfit on an ex-girlfriend could wear to make them feel like they have lost a good thing. According to my friend Aziz, “anything form-fitting and alluring” will make him want to reconnect again. My other guy friends said they would definitely be attracted to their exs and kind of grind their teeth if they saw her looking good but classy. “High heels, above the knee, tight dress, and black,” says Emilio. I repeatedly heard the words form-fitting and black, so I have found some classy, yet alluring dresses.
This first dress, the D&G Dolce & Gabbana Sateen Bustier Dress, is very sexy. I love the way it accentuates the curves and embraces a women’s femininity. The straps give it some edge by showing off the collarbone. It would be great to put some bronzer all over the arms and chest, giving you a healthy glow. I think D&G always does a great job with their designs, and it’s on sale!
This next dress, the Bebe Mock Neck Open Back Dress, is hot! I love the fact that it is a mock neck and has an open back. It’s different and sure to stand out from the crowd. This sleeveless dress is a knockout and might get too much attention, but sometimes a girl needs some love! So, take it! The dress maybe a little sheer for some of you, and that can be cured by wearing some tights underneath.
This last dress, the BCBG Strapless Ponte Dress, is great for the smaller, more petite gal. I love this strapless dress because it is simple and elegant with the woven detail on the front. This dress will look even better with some stunning chandelier earrings and a gorgeous shawl to class it up a bit.
All three dresses are perfect, and in the Little Black Dress category, giving you an extra incentive to make the purchase. I listened to the manly advice I got and I think it worked out well. Two out of the three dresses are on sale, so go on and grab one just in case you need to make a grand entrance.
