Loving This Week: a Snappy Popover + Jimmy Choo on Sale
Monday, March 09, 2015
Blame it on the changing seasons, or the general feeling of being between fashion collections, but I’m feeling drawn to closet staples these days. Things that won’t feel out of place next season, or even next year. This week I’ve landed on a couple of tops that will wear well now and later, plus shoes that are at the same time stand-outs and completely neutral.
Check out what’s been taking up space in my online shopping cart this week…
1. Azalea Sleeveless Snap Front Top, $69.00
This simple white top is a smart closet staple that can be easily layered on cool days, but is just right as-is during the warmest summer months. I’m particularly fond of the high-low hem and the snaps, rather than buttons, at the closure. It’s the little things that elevate a basic, and this top is a perfect example.
2. Eliza J Mixed Media Popover Dress, $148.00
I love the funky, relaxed look created here by layering a slouchy knit top over a poplin skirt. It’s an unlikely duo, but there’s no need to mix and match with this find – it’s an all-in-one dress. I’m imagining it with slide-on sandals of the faux-Celine variety to up the chic factor and keep the look from veering into boho territory.
3. Converse x Missoni Chuck Taylor All Star Ox Sneaker, $84.95
These black and white sneakers are part of the latest season of the Missoni x Converse collaboration, arriving just in time for spring. The muted color palette is more minimalist friendly than most Missoni items, but doesn’t compromise on the instantly recognizable Missoni knit print. I’m picturing these sneaks paired with cropped black slim sweatpants and a vintage white tee for running errands on the weekend.
4. Stateside Supima Slub Henley, $82.00
I’m attracted to the simplicity of this heather grey tee. It’s that tee that you wish would materialize in your closet when you need a layering piece that will look good under your newest acquisition, but without distracting from the focus piece.
5. Jimmy Choo Valdez Strappy Snake-Print Sandal, $477.00 (was $795.00)
Have you ever noticed that, on the rare occasion you can find high-end designer shoes on sale, the pickings are limited to odd colors and extreme sizes? Me too. That’s why I couldn’t pass up featuring this sale find from the Neiman Marcus online outlet. It’s a gorgeous, neutral, classic Jimmy Choo sandal and it’s currently available in a nice range of sizes. Enjoy.
