You may not believe me, but I have loved shirtdresses since before they were "cool". My favorite was a black matte jersey number by Esprit that I had during grad school. I would wear it unbuttoned with the belt tied behind me as a "going out" jacket over skirts and jeans. By buttoning it up and tying the belt in a bow at my side it became a chic little day dress.
