Those new Old Navy ads are catchy, and completely unavoidable. So, the question is: do the new Old Navy fashions live up to the hype?
I found myself standing outside of an Old Navy store this past weekend while waiting for a table at a nearby restaurant. I took the opportunity to investigate the situation and I'm happy to report that I was pleasantly surprised. The new offerings go beyond the standard Old Navy "jeans and logo tees" of past seasons. Sure, there are still plenty of Old Navy branded products available, but there are also several trendy fashion items that are just right for fall and priced well below their designer counterparts.
My two favorite finds are pictured here. The Kimono Sleeve Cardigan has great details that are pure fashionista fun, like oversized buttons, a stand up collar, and flattering kimono styling. By buttoning just the top couple of buttons it takes on a cape-like silhouette that is perfect with skinny jeans. Left open, this cardigan is a great top layer for fall's multi-layered look. I snapped up this bargain fashion find on the spot!
The Long Cowl Neck sweater is mini-dress length and would be sweet with thick tights and platform pumps. Pair it with skinny pants and flats for a mod London look befitting a modern day Twiggy. The mini-pockets on the front keep it from looking like a run-of-the-mill sweater and the fit is body conscious and super flattering. It is available in Natural White and Dark Heather Gray (shown).
