Maybe it's the Marie Antoinette fever, or maybe it's an unconscious rebelling against the subdued fall look, but corsets are showing up in the most unexpected places. Once resigned to the bedroom, the dance club, or the odd risque Halloween costume, corsets are now going mainstream by popping up everywhere from belts to shoes. I have to admit, I'm more than a little taken with this new trend. Here are a few of my favorite finds.

I'd also try it over of fall's oversized sweaters to create a defined waist and add interest without deviating from the neutral color palette.

These "Wicked" Pumps by Carlos Santana (left) are my absolute must-buy. The only word for these shoes is "hot!" The combination of matte leather with patent leather accents and the amazing corset detailing is almost too much to handle. I am amazed that a "department store" shoe has so much designer-level detail. Click on the photo to take a look a several different views of this shoe and you will see what I mean. The way that the leather corset ties twist around the base of the shoe is crazy. I'm so in love with these shoes that I'm drooling as I write this. What a way to vamp up any outfit.
