If you haven't heard of the Ed Hardy label yet, let this be your long overdue introduction. California-based tattoo artist Don Ed Hardy is famous for his amazingly artistic tattoo creations and has been dubbed "the godfather of tattoo." French designer Christian Audigier rose to fame as the man who put Von Dutch on the map, but decided to go it on his own once he was granted the exclusive rights to use Don Ed Hardy's tattoo designs on clothing and accessories. Voila! The uber hot Ed Hardy clothing label was born.
Thanks to the pairing of these two talented men, the California tattoo artist has transcended skin art to become his own lifestyle brand. Kind of like a subversive Ralph Lauren, with prices to match. Ed Hardy designs are a favorite of the young Hollywood set, having been recently spotted on Paris Hilton, Jennifer Hudson (right), Britney Spears, Madonna, Kim Kardashian, and Jessica Alba-- just to name a few! For my fellow soccer fans: Real Madrid Captain Raul Gonzalez wore an Ed Hardy tee to a press conference last month. Now that's hot.
