Once upon a time in a land far, far away... Well, maybe not. 12 years ago (which feels a whole lot like once upon a time) I started college in one of the best college towns you can imagine. The place was Chico, California, a town of just under 100,000 located about three hours north of San Francisco. This little oasis town is home to California State University, Chico. Don't worry if you've never heard of Chico. We kind of like it that way. I can't imagine a better place to get a true college town experience, but there was one small problem. Right around the time I started college a tiny clothing shop called Lulu's Fashion Lounge opened it's doors. The female population of CSUC rejoiced. Lulu's stocked affordable versions of all of the hottest new trends. I don't know a single Chico girl, even to this day, who doesn't have a closet full of clothes from Lulu's. I still stop in every time I'm in Chico.
