Have you ever dreamed of being a designer and having your amazing creations pass by on strangers in the street? I definitely have, especially every time I wander into Barney’s and see yet another random designer from Timbuktu gathering $5000 for a dress made of processed muslin. Purses and totes on the other hand, I have had to leave up to the pros until now.
Coach has opened up their design potential to you, your Mom and even your fashion-clueless boyfriend. The “Design a Coach Tote” campaign, which is being powered by the geniuses at Brickfish, is a contest to design the next special limited edition tote with your name on it. Additions to the prize are a party for the winner at a Coach store along with, brace yourself, $2500 to shop till you drop at Coach!! If that’s not enough, $500 scholarship/cash is also part of this fantastic prize. Since this contest will surely get more hits to Coach.com, they are also awarding the most viral and highest scored design with a $1500 online shopping spree and $250 scholarship or cash.
“We’re looking for a truly inspired and unique design to feature on our next Coach tote.” Once you enter the futuristic fashion world now called the web, go to Coach.com and click on Coach Cliques at the top of the page. There is a fabulous widget (which word I love) application to download to your website or blog so that everyone you know can vote for your design to be chosen as the new “it” bag. This chosen bag could be the new bag seen gracing the arms of Gossip Girls, Upper East Siders and Los Angeles beach girls alike.
