Well I'll use it again here because it was National Underwear Day in none other than New York City on August 5th and I wish my knickers I was there to see the crazy show.
Shoes.com, which is a division of the
Brown Shoe Company teamed up with a leading online retailer of intimate apparel,
Freshpair, to sponsor this 6th annual fest. Shoes.com provided shoes for the models on the runway, everything from flip flops to loafers to stilettos and more was the other half to the models' outfits. Marketing Director for Shoes.com, Lisa Hanly, has deemed this a great pairing, "Everybody could use a fresh pair -- of shoes and underwear." Well, if that doesn't sound like a sweet marketing pitch to box sexy underwear in with amazing shoes from now on, oh the possibilities.
Anyway, before my mind wanders into entrepreneurial dreams too quickly, Shoes.com sells over 450 brands of shoes and two of the featured ones are Gretta, a celebrity stylist's new line, and Etienne Aigner, an international purveyor of fine leather footwear for women. National Underwear Day is the ultimate celebration of the intimate apparel industry, giving people a reason to mention their unmentionables. It boasts the biggest underwear runway show to date, said Michael Kleinmann, President of Freshpair, Inc. Now of course, this was a star-studded event, but for us average Jane's, it sounds like a great reason to
shop the latest trends in underwear and shoes, how could you go wrong?
