I have to be honest. The BCBG Max Azria line has always been a little hit or miss for me. When it's on, the pieces are gorgeous and have a very designer feel. When it's off, well, the fashions can come across a little cheap and soccer mom-ish. It's disappointing given how much I adore both the higher end Max Azria label and the affordable BCBGirls label.
The Fall 2008 BCBG Max Azria Trunk Show has just made its debut on Nordstrom.com and, as expected, it is hit or miss. There are enough hits that I can't completely write off the fall line, but I can't love the entire line either. My favorite piece from the Fall Trunk Show is the Mock Two Piece Chiffon & Tweed Dress (left). Paired with thick stockings and platform pumps, this dress will come across as much more pricey than it's $288 price tag. A definite must buy from the new collection.
Other hits include a Stretch Poplin Shirt with asymmetrical ruffle detail on the placket, a graphic Fireworks Print Jersey Dress, and a simple yet sophisticated Faux Wrap Sweater Dress.
