From the minute I saw the runway version of this dress in the Spring 2009 Ready-to-Wear shows, I've been truly, madly, deeply in love with it. The Thakoon Shibari Dress echoes one of the most instantly recognizable styles from the shows, which was held up by nearly every major fashion magazine as the poster child for the pseudo-bondage trend. I've never considered paying $1500 for an everyday dress, but I'm so tempted by this frock that I may have to freeze my credit cards Becky Bloomwood style to keep myself from giving in. The fact that this dress is now only a few mouse clicks away is almost too much to bear.
The irresistible nature of this Thakoon dress starts with its artfully crinkled crepe shell and 100% silk lining. The contrast mesh banding adds dimension and the two-way zipper in back is amazing, both in the bold detailing and the way it anchors the criss-crossing bands. I find the whole package mesmerizing. Love it.
