Fashion icon Diane von Furstenberg originally introduced the wrap dress to the fashion world in the early ‘70s. Since then style legends like Princess Diana, to modern celebrities like Eva Mendes, Paris Hilton and Eva Longoria have adopted it. The wrap dress has always been a fashion staple because of its diverse uses. It’s a dress that you can wear to work or a party by changing minor details such as the accessories you wear with it. Typically the wrap dress is a bust enhancing, hip reducing dress that can be worn by anyone, and looks best when worn at above the knee length. Since Diane von Furstenberg started this flattering dress phenomenon, all three of my recommendations are her design.

The first lovely Diane von Furstenberg Swirl Print Wrap Dress is gorgeous. It’s a bit different from the classic wrap because of its ruffle hem, and the swirl design gives it a livelier edge. The salsa-ish dress will increase heartbeats and have you wanting to hit the dance floor every time. This dress can be toned down by keeping the accessories to a minimum. A pair of simple earrings would be a great way to complete the look. The dress has a lot of personality, so don’t go overboard with makeup!

The Diane von Furstenberg “Edan” wrap dress is a classic. Opposite of the previous wrap dress mentioned, it is a simple sophisticated dress that everyone can afford to keep as a staple in their closet. It’s always handy to have a black dress that fits well and looks great without being too overbearing. This dress differentiates itself by having a collared top and it flares more from the hips. The flared bottom and collar top add professionalism, making it perfect for the office.

Although there are so many more DVF wrap dresses I adore, I had to narrow it down. My last featured dress is the chain link orange “Julian” wrap dress. This pattern creates a nice summery orange dress. And, to top it off, it’s on sale for $216! How can you pass up that opportunity from the mastermind herself? This dress looks exactly like one of the original old school dresses with bonded split cuffs, three quarter length sleeves, and the plunging v-neckline, therefore, I love it!
