--By Kim MoshtaghiMy best friend, Stacy Simmons, is product development manager at
Orly Beauty and she has turned me on to some nail products that are worth writing about. Working hard to improve existing Orly products and come up with new creative ones, Stacy has hit the hammer on the nail with Orly’s new
Flash Dry Quick Dry Shine Drops.
I’ve mentioned many times how annoying it is to get chipped nails, on top of how bad it looks, and I officially found another worthwhile quick dry product. After trying the Flash Dry drops I have continued purchasing it for both me and my mom. Orly has taken something complicated and made it simple and easy for the user. Don’t get me wrong, I still love
Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat, but the Orly is an alternative.
Both fast dry products get the job done. The difference between the Orly and the Seche Vite is the thickness of the product and the application process. The Orly Flash Dry is a drop instead of another coat, making it less of a hassle. The Seche Vite requires you to keep your hands still and straight, while Orly’s Flash Dry is quicker and simpler. I recommend having both around: Seche Vite for when you have longer time to do your nails, and Orly for when you are about to head out the door. Typically the Seche VIte works better for a long lasting manicure, while Orly is a quicker fix.
Moving backwards to nail polish color, I have to showcase one of my new favorite nail polish colors from Orly. This color is from
Orly’s Once Upon A Time collection and it's called “
Mirror Mirror.” This sexy, dramatic creamy grey has turned a lot of heads, believe it or not! I’ve been wearing it for the last couple of weeks and men are complimenting me left and right. It’s weird to get that kind of a reaction from a nail polish color. There are 6 different shades, including Mirror Mirror, in the collection. They are all very unique in their own way. With dazzling, one-of-a-kind nail polish color you will want to pass food across the dinner table. Get polished with shades that will get your creative juices flowin’.
And, when you try on whimsical polish that you can’t stand, try taking it off with Sephora’s acetone-free
Nail Polish Remover. This particular polish remover gets the polish off without stripping your nails. It is known for moisturizing and hydrating nails, instead of making your nails ashy.
