These sleek, classic Macia wedge sandals from Donald J Pliner remind me of the kind of shoe that would be ideal for a summer daytime party-- like a bridal shower or a garden party. But, I don't think it needs to be limited to those situations. The neutral color and simple shape means that this shoe would work well with a range of summer ensembles.
This more demure sand colored pair pictured here is my favorite (and the lowest priced), but this same shoe also comes in both black and leopard print. The black version is appropriate for a casual work environment, while the crazy leopard print could make an appearance at a nighttime event. All three pair are on sale for under $100.
