Black and white is a brilliant and classic combination. Two simple colors from the opposite ends of the spectrum unite to create a marvelous and sought after look. The combination is very yin and yang, and it creates a harmonious blend that can be accompanied by any third color you desire. It is rare to have two colors get along with another color without traumatizing the eye. Of course, there are 3 color combos that are nice, but they take more brain power to put together. When I'm in a hurry and can't think of a complete outfit, I know my black and white jacket or my black and white dress will go with any pair of shoes.
Maybe it's just me, but lately I've had to wear a lot of dresses because all my friends are getting married. Naturally, after the 4th wedding in the last few months my dress situation is getting frustrating. I can't wear the same one over and over again. Plus, I can't afford to keep buying fancy dresses that I will rarely wear again. So, a basic and sophisticated black and white dress is worth the purchase. The BCBGMAXAZRIA Elin Strapless Long Dress is adorable. It's got a black and white graphic design pattern. I recommend this dress for a long legged gal or someone tall enough to be able to strut this dress with its phenomenal slit up the side.

For the office, I suggest this sexy black and white striped stretchy skirt from Bebe. You can easily pair it with a black blazer and pointy black shoes making it appropriate wear. On the contrary, you can turn this skirt into part 1 of a Saturday night vixen outfit when pairing with skyscraper heels and a sexy v-neck.

If the skirt is too risqué and if you want to exude professionalism, then this black and white zig-zag tunic style top from Chico's is perfect. The slimming effect on this collared shirt is an extra perk when wearing it.

Whatever you prefer, everyone needs a cover up to keep them warm. I found a cute striped, draped cardigan that has a cool bohemian look to it. The length and chunky black and white horizontal stripes are the selling point. It's a free spirited top that will flow freely over any attire.
