This past weekend, while on a secret mission at my local Kohl's (more on that coming soon!), I spotted one of the best steals I've seen in quite a while. Of course, I snapped it right up and plotted to share it with all of you.
The Candie's School of Birds Scarf absolutely screams vintage Libertine to me. The gauzy off-white cotton fabric is ever-so-slightly distressed and unraveling at the unfinished edges, which, oddly, makes it feel a little more expensive than a poorly executed attempt at perfection would. The print is of a flock of birds, but the placement of the birds feels just random enough to seem really thoughtful rather than cookie cutter, as some bargain priced prints do. Finally, the simple dark grey/ black of the bird print is kind of creepy, in a good way.
The part that makes this great scarf a steal? The crazy low $15.00 price tag, which pairs nicely with the bajillion Kohl's coupon codes floating around this week. Seriously, the woman in front of me in line got a pair of petite Levi's jeans for under $3.00 -- no, that's not a typo. If you're a Kohl's fan, this is the week to shop.
