I'm such a sucker for a great maxi dress. They're like ball gowns that you can wear on regular days. I swear, that's half the appeal. And this graphic black and white maxi dress that Lauren Conrad was spotted wearing while out in New York City is just a little more fun than most.

Lauren's sleek maxi dress has an abstract print that, at least in these pictures, reminds me a bit of a De Kooning painting. The rough swaths of black and white on a beige background take this dress from precious to daring. It's a great look for those Spring days when you just aren't feeling the bright color thing.
