One of my favourite days of the year is when I retire my thick tights, jumpers and UGG boots and start building up my summer wardrobe. There is just something about the floral dresses, sandals and lightweight cardigans that instantly puts me in a good mood!
This summer I am more excited than ever to discover just what the fashion retailers have in store for me and cannot wait to rummage around in the vintage shops to dig out some absolute gems. I was asked the other day just what my summer essentials would be and it got me thinking, if I could only choose three things to see me through the season what would they be?
The first thing that sprung to mind was a summer dress, one that can easily see you through from day to night with a print that never goes out of fashion. At the moment maxi dresses are still the number one choice for ladies making the most out of the sun, however I’m a fan of the equally popular midi dresses. A classic polka dot print on a skater style midi dress and I am in heaven!

As I am fair skinned by second essential would have to be some sort of cover up. My cardigan collection is already spiralling out of control but I honestly think that a girl cannot have too many! A simply white cardigan goes with anything and gives an instant summer feel to an outfit.

Finally, the shoes! A good summer sandal should be comfortable enough to suit walks in the park and dancing till dawn and this summer my feet will be treated to a pair of Lotus sandals. With a wide selection of colours and styles there really is something for everyone however I will be opting for a classic wedge, ideal for those fun summer nights.
