The black leather jacket, in just about any incarnation, will always be a wardrobe staple. Nevertheless, I have a hard time getting excited about yet another version of the same old school style. However, I was stopped dead in my tracks when I ran across Zara’s new Leather Studio Jacket. She’s special.
One part Arthur Fonzarelli, one part ski bunny puffer jacket, this is a totally new take on basic black leather. I haven’t seen anything quite like this before. Have you?
What first drew me to this jacket is the stand-up collar. It’s high enough to look very much on purpose, but not so crazy that I’d feel weird wearing it to work (my litmus test for determining the real “fashionista” items in my closet). My eyes then went to the slim puffer fit – what a chic puffer, I thought. I was intrigued enough to click through to the item details. Surprise! She’s not just a puffer… she’s a lambskin leather puffer jacket with a stand up collar! Love.
While leather isn’t practical for inclement weather, this jacket will work nicely for those last days of winter that slowly turn into spring. This super versatile jacket will look great with jeans, but will also pair well with dressier ensembles – slim trousers, pencil skirts, and the like. It’s not quite right for layering over suits or other bulky layers, but that’s a small sacrifice for such a fun, fabulous jacket.
The outer shell of this jacket is 100% lambskin, which is generally more supple than cow leather. The lining is 100% polyester. It has a hidden zip closure with buttons over top, which reach all the way to the top of the collar – great for creating a super dramatic look. It’s available in sizes S, M, L, and ships free with the standard shipping option.
