We all know technology is constantly improving. Not only does it get more advanced over time, but smaller too. For beauty this means we can make full use of technology which only a few years ago was only available in a salon or specialist clinic!
Laser Hair Removal
Laser hair removal works by targeting the hair follicles and damaging them so they don't produce hair. This usually stops or at least reduces hair growth on the treated area. At a clinic treatment must be administered by professionals using large powerful devices.
However similar results are possible with home devices. The home devices are incredibly user friendly; you just hover them over the area you want to treat and activate the device. Some systems even beep when you need to go onto the next area of skin. They're safe too – they scan your skin and won't work unless your skin type is suitable.
The Tria is one of the best known home devices and is the only device cleared by the FDA for permanent hair removal.

Microdermabrasion
Microdermabrasion is an extreme form of exfoliation. It gently removes the dead skin cells and impurities from the top layer of skin. This allows new skin to grow in its place which has less blemishes, wrinkles and is much smoother. It does this by firing crystals or diamond flakes at the skin and then vacuuming up the dead skin cells and crystals.
Obviously this exact process would be hard to replicate, but home based systems work in a similar way. Instead of using crystals they use special tips which rub against the skin. Most devices still suck the skin upwards and remove the dead skin cells.
A good system is the MicrodermMD which has a digital display to walk you through the treatment. You should have super smooth and visibly clearer skin after only a single treatment.

Skin Rejuvenating Lasers
Rejuvenating lasers (also known as laser resurfacing) can reduce wrinkles and improve the texture & general appearance of the skin. They do this by stimulating the tissue under the outer layer of skin which causes it to produce more collagen and elastin. This is all done without breaking the top layer of skin.
Even this complex process can be replicated in the home with a small hand held device. The power of the device is of course going to be much less, but the results are still very good.
The FaceFX from Silk'n claim that using the device can reduce wrinkles by nearly 70%. Not only that, it can reduce the size of the pores, and improve skin texture.

Yes, we know what you're thinking - some of these products aren't exactly cheap. But you can actually save money buying these home devices if you're frequently getting salon treatments. Think of the time you'll save too. It's time to take your beauty routine to the next level!
