The Details
The Cleopatra sweater is a square-neck, slightly cropped long-sleeve top in a linen blend. A touch of nylon adds a bit of stretch. The overall fit is slim but loose, falling just below the hip.
This top comes in three colors: polar grey (shown here), cobalt, and coral. Being a big fan of neutrals, I’m leaning towards the grey. It is that perfect shade of grey that pairs with everything from black, to sunshine yellow, to lavender, to chocolate brown. But, if your spring wardrobe is in need of a color injection, both the cobalt and coral versions are suitably bright and cheerful.
How to Wear It
Layered with a tee or tank, and paired with your favorite jeans or slouchy shorts, this sweater will vibe polished casual. But, this sweater will also dress up nicely for work. Pull it on over a button down shirt or demure camisole, and then pair it with a pencil skirt for an office look.
You may even be able to squeak a night out look from this sweater, depending on whether it’s sexy-sheer or trashy-sheer over just a bra. I reserve judgment until I see it in person.
The one downside: it’s hand wash only. Granted, I generally opt for either dry cleaning or the delicate cycle in these situations, so I don’t see that as a problem. But, in case you are a washing instructions stickler, I wanted to make you aware of this possible washing situation.
Bottom line, this REISS linen top is a great basic that you’ll wear three seasons of the year… or maybe four, if you call a temperate climate home.
