One of my favorite new collections is the Rag & Bone Pre-Fall 2014 collection, which recently landed in their online store. It’s full of many of the shapes we’ve come to love from Rag & Bone – tuxedo-inspired blazers, cropped trousers, and slouchy sweaters – and a few pieces that are clearly fall takes on summer staples, to ease your transition into the cooler months.
It was a big task, but I narrowed down the Pre-Fall collection into my five favorite pieces. They happen to be mainly accessories, which I didn’t plan, but decided to go with once I saw that was where my mind was headed. Check them out and let me know what you think…
What will be fall’s answer to spring and summer’s ubiquitous slip-on skater sneaker? I’m betting on the loafer, if for no other reason than that I’m hoping that’s the case after seeing this slightly updated take on the classic shape.

Not-so-ladylike prints are fairly common with this label, so I wasn’t surprised to run across this dagger-print wool scarf in the Pre-Fall collection. I enjoy that the print has an imperfect, kind of vintage pen and ink feel to it. It’s also available in a white-on-black version, but I think some of the cool factor of the print gets lost with the reverse combo.

I’ve never been a big fan of Rag & Bone’s handbags, mainly because they tend to look more like overgrown knapsacks. But, this new box duffle has a Givenchy-meets-Botkier shape that’s luxe and fresh. Plus, this bag is so roomy you won’t need to cut any of your daytime essentials due to space issues.

I think we’ve all come to expect a few classic blazers with inventive details from each new Rag & Bone collection. The Pre-Fall offerings didn’t disappoint. My favorite of the pack is this Lorimer Blazer, which has a subtle texture detail along the slim notched lapel and a minimalist hook closure.

Finally, I couldn’t pass up this 2014 take on the Chelsea boot. My favorite part might be the United Nations-style leather construction: Italian calf leather upper, padded French calf leather footbed, Belgian cow leather sole. If you don’t already have a chic Chelsea boot in your wardrobe, this is a great pick.
