Loving This Week: Open Toe Flats + A Chic Purple Bag
Monday, July 14, 2014
My favorite online shopping finds this week all have one thing in common: there’s something about each one that is totally unique. From color, to construction, to little details, each item that caught my eye was just a little different. In a good way. You’ll see.
Here’s a peek inside my online shopping cart this week…
1. Tahari Zip-Trim V-Neck Top, $95.00 (was $148.00)
The zipper detail on this otherwise simple Tahari top really does make the look. Plus, it allows neckline to be customized depending on the situation – a little higher for work, a little lower for cocktails. The sale price doesn’t hurt its appeal.
2. Marc New York Supima Cotton Pullover, $34.99 (was $48.00)
Some days you just need a tee shirt. This is kind of like that tee shirt, only with a little more of a flare to it. The asymmetrical hem and cowl neckline make this cotton/ modal “tee” just a little bit more interesting than the rest of the tees in the closet.
3. Avant Garde Paris Valerie Bracelet, $130.00
While browsing through the new arrivals over at Shopbop.com I was struck by this silvertone pewter chain link bracelet. Unlike the shiny, super polished chain link bracelets that seem to be everywhere, this version has distressed links. It’s amazing how that one change makes this bracelet about a million times more interesting.
4. Steven Pearla Suede Open Toe Flats, $99.00
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a flat shaped quite like this one. The vamp is high, like all of those Vince shoes that were so popular last season, but the toe is open. And, unlike most flats, this one doesn’t slip on – it has a discreet back zip. I haven’t seen it on anyone yet, so it very well could look silly, but I’m optimistic. This funky shape could have that downtown chic factor all sewn up.
5. Liebeskind Esther D Satchel, $285.00
How fun is this light plum colored leather satchel? I think all shades of purple are gorgeous when paired with greys and black, which describes a very large portion of my wardrobe. Somehow purples look incredibly neutral and sophisticated with black and greys. It’s amazing. But, it’s hard to find solid purple colored bags and shoes that don’t come off as super girly-girl. This pretty purple is paired with a relaxed, kind of rugged bag shape, which makes it so hard to pass up.
