Loving This Week: Late Summer Sandals + Wool Sweater Bargain
Monday, August 25, 2014
Although I’m generally 100% devoted to fall fashion at this point in the year, I found a couple warmer weather options that I couldn’t resist this week. Plus a clutch. But, oddly, all of the pieces look great together – like a capsule wardrobe, minus the pants.
Check out what’s in my online shopping cart this week…
1. A.P.C. Classic Sandal, $340.00
Although summer is nearly over, I’m still debating a sandal purchase. It’s silly. But, I’m head over heels for these simple sandals. The crossed black leather straps are timeless, while the suede platform combined with the rubber sole adds a laid-back luxury touch. A.P.C. does such a great job with closet staples.
2. Uniqlo Extra Fine Merino V-Neck Sweater, $19.90 (was $29.90)
100% Merino wool. Available in 13 colors. Machine washable. On sale for under 20 bucks. It’s bargains like this that make me love Uniqlo. How can a person go wrong with this deal?
3. AYR Easy Shirt in Weightless Cotton, $155.00
Although the lightweight, sheer nature of this shirt makes me think of summer rather than fall, I’m still enjoying it enough to consider a purchase. I think the popover style and slightly oversized fit create an easy elegance. This shirt will look great with slouchy jeans, but it will also be gorgeous with a pencil skirt or trousers – just perhaps not for work, given the above-mentioned sheerness. It’s available in 5 colors, including a super summery true white.
4. Zara V-Neck Flowing Blouse, $59.90
Speaking of white shirts… this viscose blouse from Zara strikes me as one of those go-to items that I’ll wear to death. It will probably only last one season given the color and composition, but at this price that doesn’t bother me much. The shape – deep v, drop shoulder, longer tail – is effortless and so pretty. I’m picturing it with cropped skinny black trousers and those A.P.C. sandals, plus maybe a chunky gold ring.
5. COS Geometric Leather Clutch, $135.00
This clutch is just really cool looking. The architectural shape is created by perching a box-shaped front pocket on a larger flat main compartment. I’m not sure how practical it will be given that the box compartment doesn’t look big enough for a smartphone, but it’s so gorgeous I’m willing to take a chance. This clutch will instantly upgrade any outfit.
