So, I went fantasy shoe shopping over the long weekend. I’m hoping that the stars align and I get to snag at least one of these pairs for the upcoming season. But, if not, at least I have the dream…
It was after falling head over heels for these flats that I noticed a Rupert Sanderson quote in the editor’s note: “I design shoes for women to wear rather than design shoes that wear the women.” It’s that kind of mindset that creates wear-all-day flats that are sexy and glamorous. I’m a big fan.

Black boots may be de rigueur for fall, but making room for a pair of less basic boots can add a major spark to your fall wardrobe. These dark blue leather boots are every bit as versatile as black, but somehow more special thanks to the architectural style and beautiful color.

I spotted the shoes – or at least what I think were these shoes – on Pinterest this weekend. After fifteen minutes or so of expert searching, I found them at Barneys. The ultra-point toe creates a sleek look that feels very fall in Paris.
→ Buy the Balenciaga Pointed-Toe Skimmers, $545.00, at barneys.com.
Don’t these boots look amazingly cozy? The shearling lining has got to be so snuggly warm. Add the chic grey leather and funky exposed zipper and you get a pretty fabulous boot. Insta-fall, just add skinny jeans and a slouchy sweater.

I wore tall heels for years. I never thought I’d get tired of the ultra-feminine, leg-lengthening look. But, suddenly, kitten heels feel so fresh and contemporary. I love that about fashion. How that look you wouldn’t have even considered five years ago becomes the look you can’t resist. I will daydream about these shoes all fall long.
