Loving This Week: Etch-Print Blouse + New 'It' Mascara
Monday, September 15, 2014
My favorite stores for designer deal shopping followed up their sad Labor Day sale selections with loads of fresh new arrivals. The result? Too many tempting deals to narrow it down to just a few top picks. But, I did… reluctantly.
On top of the excellent fashion finds, I was introduced to two new “it” beauty products recently – one I’ve already had the chance to try and one I can’t wait to purchase. Here’s a peek inside my online shopping cart this week…
1. Diane von Furstenberg New Julian Wrap Dress, $139.00 (was $285.00)
If I was to commit the immutable laws of shopping to paper, one of the first I’d write down would be: “If you find DvF on sale for 50% off, just buy it.” I’ve never found a Diane von Furstenberg piece that didn’t fit like a glove. So, when I see a classic item in a color I love marked down this far, I can’t imagine passing it up.
2. Kerastase Spray Fluidissime, $42.00
When my amazing stylist introduced me to this brand new Kerastase anti-frizz heat protection spray/ detangler last week she referred to it as “magic spray.” She wasn’t kidding. It instantly detangled my hair and somehow turned my regularly highlighted, seven months post-Brazilian Blowout hair (an unruly mess, for sure) into a glassy blowout with minimal effort. The salon was completely sold out, as are most Kerastase salons, from what the online reviews say. But, it’s available online. This is definitely the hot new hair styling product on the block.
3. Lafayette 148 Dalia Etched-Print Blouse, $178.50 (was $448.00)
The print on this gorgeous silk blouse reminds me of the etching projects we’d do in my studio art classes in high school. I always loved the black and white simplicity of that technique, and this print has a similar classic feel. It’s easily my favorite fashion find of the week. It would look great with jeans for a casual workplace, or as part of a suit for a more business formal look.
4. Urban Decay Perversion Mascara & Subversion Primer, $22.00
If you haven’t already added this new mascara to your must-try list, add it now. It has received nothing but glowing reviews from the glossies and the hardcore beauty bloggers alike. Evidently it creates the darkest black lashes yet, knocking the previous titleholder – Diorshow Blackout – of its throne. I can’t wait to try it!
5. Vince Cable-Knit Boat-Neck Sweater, $153.30 (was $285.00)
I live for sale-priced Vince sweaters. This newest find has a unique cable knit that is kind of wavy rather than a standard straight cable. That combined with the relaxed fit make it perfect for fall weekends. Plus, there’s that fabulous sale price.
