Loving This Week: Designer Bag Deals + Clinique Free GWP
Monday, October 20, 2014
The Saks Fifth Avenue online outlet just got a fresh shipment of handbags from the Saks stores, resulting in some pretty great deals on high end bags. I found two classic shapes that turned my head.
In other department store news, it’s Clinique free gift with purchase time at Macy’s. I’m not a huge Clinique fan, but their free gifts are some of the best in the business thanks to generous use of full-size products. I can usually find something I need that will net me the gift, which means brand new free eyeshadow, blush, mascara, and more.
Here’s what’s floating around in my online shopping cart this week…
1. Marc by Marc Jacobs Globetrotter Calamity Satchel, $265.99 (was $498.00)
This pebbled leather satchel is one of my favorite sale finds this week. It’s a roomy black leather bag, in a classic shape, with nicely restrained use of gold hardware. Everything about this handbag screams “your new favorite workday bag.”
2. Rebecca Taylor Silk Colorblock Blouse, $199.00 (was $265.00)
This is the second time I’ve run across a silk blouse with a sequin print, but it still feels very novel. The sequin motif feels very festive and fun, but is toned down by the photographic print approach, as opposed to a real life sequin situation. This blouse could easily go to work in a more casual or creative office.
3. Prada Daino Leather Pocket Hobo Bag, $762.99 (was $1,430.00)
Here’s the thing about sale-priced designer handbags: if they’re deeply discounted, they’re more than likely fake. That is, unless you are lucky enough to find them on sale at a reputable high-end retailer. Like this timeless Prada hobo. It’s available in four colors – Nero (black), Marrone (brown), Cobalto (blue), and Rosso (red) – and all four are marked 46% off at Saks. The black is simple and easy-to-carry, but the red is stunning. It’s such a toss up.
4. Clinique 8-Piece Gift, Free with $27.00 purchase
This Clinique free gift with purchase comes in two color options: Nudes or Violets. The choice of color affects the shades of eyeshadow duo, blush, and lipstick. On top of the shadow, blush, and lip color, the kit includes All About Eyes eye cream, Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion, Lash Doubling Mascara in Black, and Clinique Happy perfume spray. The lotion and eye cream are perfect for throwing in the travel bag; the makeup will add some new fall color to the cosmetics rotation without a costly commitment.
5. Hayden Cashmere Colorblock Sweater, $179.00 (was $350.00)
Cashmere is my go-to for fall and winter, but cashmere sweaters can start to look all the same once you really start shopping. This colorblock version from Hayden is a little touch of something different in cashmere. I like this black/ fog grey/ ivory combo, but it’s also available in more colorful options that include the season’s popular burgundy and true red shades.
