Loving This Week: Wear-to-Work Makeup Finds + a Slouchy Blouse
Monday, December 08, 2014
This week I’m highlighting a couple amazing new beauty finds I discovered via Sephora’s very generous Beauty Insider customer loyalty program. If you haven’t signed up for it yet (it’s free!), you are really missing out. I have found some of my favorite products by taking advantage of the many free samples you get with every order.
I also ran across a few new fashion finds at my favorite online haunts. No real rhyme or reason, just some fun finds. Check out what’s in my online shopping cart this week…
1. Rag & Bone Sloane Sweatshirt, $295.00
The “dressy” sweatshirt trend, which feels like it’s been going strong for at least a couple years now, has led to a whole genre of tops that feel like pajamas but look pulled together. This rayon/ poly blend quilted version gets an extra kick of fancy from its luxe winter white color. It would look just as great with trousers as it would with distressed boyfriend jeans.
2. & Other Stories Small Disco Ball Necklace, $22.00
I ran across this pretty little brass necklace in the new arrivals section at & Other Stories. It’s neither flashy nor expensive, but it has a simple appeal that will look just right with a button down shirt for work. It would also make a great little gift since it could easily fit into just about any wardrobe, regardless of personal style.
3. Pleione Faux Wrap Blouse, $39.00 – $68.00
What I love most about this work-perfect, perfectly affordable poly blouse is that it comes in range of fun prints – 11 in all. There really is something for everyone. I’m drawn to this ivory and black link print, which suits my minimalist-leaning personal style just right. But, there are some super colorful options that are real eye catchers. I’m not the only one who is smitten. Ninety-six reviews later, it’s a solid 4-star find at Nordstrom.
4. Marc Jacobs Beauty O!Mega Last Volumizing Mascara, $26.00
I got a sample of this new-ish mascara with a recent Sephora order. Although the description would lead you to believe it’s more of a special occasion option, I think it’s one of the most perfect wear-to-work mascaras I’ve run across in quite a while. It goes on without clumps and creates long, feathery lashes that are ink black, but don’t veer anywhere near that sooty mascara look that is better suited for nighttime. I’m a new fan.
5. bareMinerals 5 in 1 BB Advanced Performance Cream Eyeshadow, $18.00
I don’t understand why this new eyeshadow collection hasn’t received a lot more love and adoration from the beauty blogs. I think it’s the best new thing in shadow since the original Naked palette. This long-wearing BB cream shadow is chock full of skincare ingredients – like anti-wrinkle, brightening, and SPF protection – that really seem to work. I truly believe my eyes look younger and brighter instantly after application. It comes in just 5 shades – each one a perfect workday neutral that will look good on absolutely any skin tone. I went through a Sephora sample size quickly, and then immediately ordered full-size tubes in Barely Nude and Soft Linen. I give this new product my highest recommendation.
