The way you buy jeans online is about to change in a big way. A new app called Like A Glove is promising to accurately measure your figure and then match you with the exact jeans – brand, model, and size – that will fit you perfectly in five seconds or less.
I was dubious when I first saw the press release, but their informational video has me sold. This looks like so much fun.
The premise is pretty simple. For $99.99 you get a pair of technologically advanced “smart leggings” that stretch to fit any size. Ok, I'm a still a little doubtful of that one-size-fits-all claim, but I’m willing to suspend disbelief for now. The magic happens after you slip into the leggings...
You pull on the leggings, adjust to fit, and then push a button on the front panel. In a matter of seconds the leggings send your exact measurements to your iOS or Android device via Bluetooth. The corresponding Like A Glove app then matches your measurements with a database of denim available for purchase online. They’re not naming names as far as brands go, but the promotional photos show labels like DL1961, AG, Levi's, Hudson, and Citizens of Humanity. You’ll be able to purchase your perfect fit jeans online via the app.
Yes, it does sound a little too good to be true. But, I’m going to bite for a couple reasons. First, they are offering a pre-order discount price of $39.99 through October 16, 2015. The leggings won’t ship until sometime in the first quarter of 2016. Second, they’re offering a 30-day money-back guarantee. And finally, I’m assuming the leggings are able to be reused for the purpose of updating your measurements. That means potentially never buying another ill-fitting pair of jeans again. That’s pretty fabulous.
