Loving This Week: Chic Flats + Glowing Skin in a Box
Monday, February 29, 2016
It’s been a while since I tried out a completely new-to-me makeup product, but I did just that last week and couldn’t be happier with my purchase. Hourglass’s Ambient Lighting finishing powders live up to the hype. They really are glowing skin in a box.
In fashion news, I fell hard for a couple warm weather options that sound crazy (to me) on paper: a velour swimsuit and a floral silk dress.
Here are all of the items that turned my head this week…
1. Base Range Mississippi Swimsuit, $115.00
Summer will be here before we know it, so there is zero reason to pass up a fabulous swimsuit when you run across it. This classic one piece in palest pink velour has that chic minimalist look that is so hard to find in swimwear. I can’t imagine a more perfect look for summer.
2. Acne Studios Adria Ballet Flat, $440.00
Leave it to Acne to create a ballet flat that feels completely modern. This new look from the Resort 2016 collection modifies the now classic stretch ballet flat silhouette with a square toe and pull tab detail.
3. Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette, $62.00
I had been hearing wonderful things about Hourglass’s Ambient Lighting finishing powder range for months, but when I went to pick a shade to try I couldn’t decide. So, I sprung for this three-color palette. Such a great decision. Each shade has its own role to play in the quest for dewy, glowing skin perfection. Where most highlighters feel more at home in the club than the office, this palette is subtle enough for broad daylight (or fluorescent lighting, as the case may be).
4. Tracy Reese Asymmetrical Print Stretch Silk Dress, $348.00
This dress is the antithesis of my everyday personal style. Floral, frilly, and overtly feminine are three qualities you’ll just won’t find in my closet. But, I’m drawn to it. The oversized floral motif feels straight out of a museum, and what’s not to love about stretch silk? It’s practically made for spring weddings, bridal showers, etc.
5. Citizens of Humanity Abigail High Rise Wide Leg Jeans, $218.00
This denim cut is destined to be the must-have silhouette of the season. The faded wash on this pair feels especially weekend-appropriate.
