Loving This Week: Classic Pumps + a Luxe Water Bottle
Monday, May 09, 2016
One of my favorite new fashion trends is the slouchy silk dress for night. The look is a perfect option for those occasions where you want luxury, and don’t want to break out the Spanx. I found a slouchy silk crepe dress from Dodo Bar Or that is pretty enough that it made me rethink my dedication to minimalist frocks.
Here are all of the shopping finds that turned my head this week…
1. J.Crew Sheath Dress in Italian Stretch Wool, $188.00
Although I never jumped on the “Fix J.Crew” bandwagon, I, admittedly, haven’t purchased much from the label in the last ten years. This new wool sheath dress is the first J.Crew workwear item in a long while that has really caught my eye. The classic lines, work-appropriate cut, and refined wool construction remind me of the J.Crew that was a favorite in my early days as a newbie lawyer.
2. A.P.C. Laurie Blouse, $210.00
The product description refers to this as a “rustic” popover. I think that is their way of describing the nubby cotton fabric, which is paired with mother-of-pearl buttons. The combination makes for a work-to-weekend look with an extra punch of texture.
3. DropBottle Rose Gold 500ML, $39.99
This is the chicest reusable water bottle I’ve seen, hands down. Beyond the good looks, it boasts double walled glass construction that can stand up to freezing and boiling and a stainless steel fruit infuser for all of those trendy detox water recipes.
4. Rupert Sanderson Blair Pumps, $615.00
These classic three-inch patent leather pumps get an extra touch of fashion from a subtle metallic gold detail on the sole and heel.
5. Dodo Bar Or Afia Stand-Collar Silk-Crepe Dress, $991.00
This dress is pretty much the exact opposite of my usual minimalist, neutral wardrobe choices. Still, I’m drawn to its luxurious silk panels and slouchy silhouette. This is the kind of dress you can wear out at night and turn heads for all of the right reasons.
