Loving This Week: Snake Sandals + New Madewell Denim
Monday, June 19, 2017
The western US heat wave is going strong here in the Bay Area, leaving me absentmindedly searching for loose dresses and slouchy tees to pair with the sweltering heat. Funny how the weather affects shopping patterns, even when it is unconscious. I miss sweater season.
In other shopping news, Madewell’s ability to turn out stunningly on-trend jeans at affordable prices is amazing. This new high-rise slim boyjean has a vibe like $400+ Japanese denim, but so much more affordable.
Check out all of my favorite shopping finds for the week…
1. Massimo Dutti Pleated T-Shirt, $49.50
This breezy top has more in common with a work blouse than a tee. It will add a dressy touch to any warm weather outfit without smothering or adding bulk. It’s also available in a very pretty, but slightly less versatile, pool blue.
2. M. Gemi The Colpo Sandal, $278.00
From this week’s new drop over at M. Gemi, these snake-embossed leather sandals have a super walkable kitten heel. The black, white, and beige print will go with literally everything.
3. Sephora Favorites Extend Your Style, $32.00 ($58.00 value)
This new dry shampoo-themed Sephora Favorites collection is practically made for those of us who have trouble committing to one hair styling product. Also, travel sizes are so useful. It includes options from Drybar, Klorane, Living Proof, Moroccanoil, and Ouai.
4. Tibi Silk Sophia Dress, $895.00
The back detail of this dress is what initially captivated me. It dips low to expose the strappy black under-layer. The voluminous blonde silk bodice is also gorgeous. Summer wedding guest dress, perhaps?
5. Madewell High-Rise Slim Boyjean, $128.00
This new cut from Madewell manages to incorporate several big denim trends, including a high rise, vintage blue wash, and fitted hip paired with a relaxed leg. Not to jinx it, but how is it that this affordable mall brand keeps turning out such great denim options?
