Loving This Week: Gucci’s Bee Keyring + a Homesick Candle
Monday, August 07, 2017
I absolutely love the new Queen Margaret line of Gucci handbags adorned with intricate queen bees. Unfortunately, most of the pieces are priced in budget-busting territory. Except the little brass keyring, which is adorable.
In other shopping news, I found this new line of hand-poured candles that come in scents designed to remind you of specific states. They’d make a perfect going away gift for someone heading out of state, or for a friend who has been away from home for a while.
Check out all of my favorite shopping finds of the week…
1. Urban Decay Naked Ultimate Basics, $54.00
Am I the only one who didn’t know that Urban Decay makes this 12-color Naked Basics palette? I have the original 6-color Naked Basics and wear it pretty much every day. This jumbo-sized basic palette contains a range of matte shades that do not appear in either the Naked Basics or Naked2 Basics sets, so no repeaters, and nearly every color is daytime-appropriate.
2. Homesick Candles, $30.00
These hand-poured soy wax candles are geographically-themed and have a scent that was formulated with locals in individual states to create authentic aromas. I love that they offer Northern California and Southern California as two different candles. I’m probably a bit biased, but Nor Cal and So Cal are two very different experiences, deserving of different scents.
3. Hunter Adjustable Calf Rain Boot, $160.00
Hunter boots are a true classic, but are not generally an option for those of us with more athletic calves. So, imagine my excitement when I ran across these adjustable-calf Hunter boots. Finally. And they are available in six fabulous colors, including black and iconic hunter green.
4. Gucci Bee Key Ring, $350.00
On the one hand, paying $350 for a brass key ring is ridiculous. On the other hand, this beauty is by far the most affordable piece from Gucci’s ultra-fabulous bee-themed line of handbags and accessories.
5. Vince Silk Lace Trimmed Cami Dress, $375.00
Have you heard the fashion rule that if you were old enough to wear the trend the first time it came around, you shouldn’t wear it the second time it comes around? Well, I was “of age” for the entirety of the ‘90s. So, I’ve been dutifully avoiding the second coming of most of the big ‘90s trends – chokers, baby tees, overalls, platform shoes. But, I don’t think I can resist a black silk slip dress, especially one with this ultra-pretty lace trim.
