The evening news meteorologist just informed us that the Bay Area is experiencing the coolest weather in 113 days. Finally, fall makes an appearance. I’m ready for the season of chunky knits, boots, and pumpkin spice. Perhaps all wrapped into the same outfit?
Here’s what’s been turning my head in the online stores this week…
1. Free People Swim Too Deep Sweater, $128.00
This gorgeous oversized Shaker stitch sweater is the pumpkin spice of knits. Instant fall.
2. Topshop Krome Leather Boots,
The flatter, sock-style silhouette of this boot feels unique in a sea of almond toe booties. I’m also shocked by the sale price, which feels pretty insane, even for Topshop. Even if these boots last just one season, you’d get your money’s worth.
3. A.P.C. Betty Saddle Bag, $470.00
Classic clean lines make this bag from French label A.P.C. feel low-key cool. I’d wear it slung cross-body over this season’s slouchy knits.
4. Melissa Drop Rain Boots, $125.00
I am of the opinion that every woman could use a pair of metallic gold rain boots in her wardrobe. These will make even the dreariest of days more fun.
5. J.Crew Everyday Cashmere Sweater, $98.00
Have you heard the news? J.Crew just launched a new line of lower-priced “everyday” cashmere. This basic crewneck is available in six colors and will set you back less than a hundred. Something tells me that these budget cashmere sweaters don’t use the famous J.Crew yarn that is sourced from the same mill that feeds Loro Piana. But, for this price, I’m willing to overlook that tragedy.
